MARNIE

Marnie calls herself an ecopreneur.

THIRTY YEARS IN THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY, has seen her venture to seventy-five countries, and into all areas of tourism; flight attending, travel agency, restaurants, hotels and guiding. However, her despondency with the treadmill-like industry led her to start her own company – one that stretches the trade to place an accent on sustainability, individuality and experience. Her recent activities in preserving the night sky, including starting the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance, have driven the quest for Dark Sky Traveller.

DARK SKY TRAVELLER SUPPORTS

The Australasian Dark Sky Alliance (ADSA) is an independent non-profit organisation formed to:

  • educate the public and policymakers about night sky conservation;

  • promote environmentally responsible outdoor lighting;

  • create business opportunities, and

  • celebrate our night sky heritage.

Since its inception in early 2019, the movement has quickly gained momentum with community groups, councils and media all around the country hungry for more information.
