Tsukimi - Japan

5 - 19 October 2025

SOLD OUT

Long ago in Japan, people believed that the moon was home to a magical rabbit that made mochi—sweet rice cakes—beneath the silver glow of the full moon.

Every autumn, families would gather to celebrate Tsukimi, the moon-viewing festival. They would decorate with susuki (pampas grass) and place offerings of dango (rice dumplings) to honour the harvest and show gratitude to the moon.

On Tsukimi nights, people would sit together outside, gazing up at the clear, bright moon, sharing stories, and enjoying the beauty of the night sky. It was a time to slow down, appreciate nature, and find peace in the stillness of the night.
